What do you do with all that left over whipped cream from Thanksgiving? Put it in the sensory table and let the babies have some fun! Ms. Shawntel Hyde and Ms. Sarah Carwile are the infant room teachers supervising this fun at our Federal Center.

Here’s a note we received last week from Day Nursery parent Heather Stoner after she joined her children at the center for lunch at our Start Smart 4 Children center at Ft. Harrison. Parents are always welcome to join us for lunch. You don’t have to wait for a special holiday, just stop by the front desk in the morning to tell us you are coming so we will count you in.
Just wanted to say thank you for inviting parents to enjoy lunch with their kiddos yesterday. I enjoyed dining with Evie and Luna and the Toddler 2 class. The meal was delicious! I thought I’d share a picture I took of the little munchkins while they sat and enjoyed their plates of yummy food. Evie, Luna and Elon had to be hams of course!!
In celebration of Thanksgiving we want to recognize some generous groups in the Indianapolis community for their continuous support of our tuition assistance program. Special thanks to the Glick Fund and the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, both CICF Funds, for support of Day Nursery. Thanks to generous donors like these, more than 250 children in our city will have access to the highest level of early childhood education and care regardless of their parents’ ability to pay. Happy Thanksgiving from Day Nursery Association.
Congratulations to Scarlett, age 4, a preschooler in Mr. Tim Tegarden‘s class at the Day Nursery Indiana State Government Center for having her handprint turkey selected as our official turkey for 2012. Her artwork appeared on our Thanksgiving card sent to donors this month.
Families gathered at the Day Nursery Federal Center yesterday to have lunch with the children and to enjoy a Thanksgiving program. If you have ever seen the size of our kitchen in this center, you know that is was no small feat to prepare a big special meal for all the guests. A big shout out goes to Center Director Sarah Parks, and our cook Gail Dodson.
Ms. Gail was assisted by our floating teacher Ms. Robyn and one of our parents Ms. Porshea. Porshea is taking classes in the Human Services field and needed some volunteer experience, so has been volunteering here at the center for a few hours.
