Helicopter visits Day Nursery Lilly Center

Day Nursery Indianapolis children wait for their turn in the helicopterFour and five-year olds from the Day Nursery State and Federal Centers downtown took a short bus ride to the Day Nursery Ruth A. Lilly Center, 3522 N. Central Avenue, to take part in an educational program featuring a helicopter that was trucked in to their parking lot this morning.  The helicopter will be visiting other Day Nursery locations later this month.  Each child got a chance to dress in a flight suit, have their picture taken and sit in the cockpit.  Here are some pictures from this morning.

Day Nursery families enjoy Target Free Family Night at The Children’s Museum

Thanks to all who came out for Day Nursery Family Night at The Children’s Museum.  Also, thanks to Target for offering this free event to our community on the first Thursday of every month.

Young Audiences Indy teaching artists visit Day Nursery Hendricks County

Day Nursery Hendricks County IndianaYoung Audiences teaching artists Tamara Loewenthal and Jamie Gans, also known as Fiddle ‘n’ Feet are artists-in-residence this week at the Day Nursery Hendricks County Early Care and Education Center in Avon.

From Southern Appalachian Mountain clogging to English step dance and in between, Fiddle ‘n’ Feet has been introducing Day Nursery preschoolers to traditional dance and music for several years. Tamara is an award-winning clogger and caller and Jamie is recognized for Irish and Old Time fiddling.
