Here’s a great Friday Faces shot courtesy of  teacher Alex Groves of our Day Nursery Northwest Center in Pike Township. The infants in her room were having fun enjoying exploring the foam blocks together that Miss Alex set out for them.  While we don’t have any openings for infants at this time at Day Nursery Northwest, we are accepting names for the waiting list. We do, however, have openings for toddlers and preschoolers through age 6.  Call 291-8048 for more information.

Sunny days offer fun outdoor activities at Day Nursery Northwest

It was a great day to be outside and Day Nursery students took full advantage of it.  At the Day Nursery Northwest Center, Assistant Director Deanna Saylor shared pictures of the fun going on at her Pike Township location. She reported that the Kindergarten class was outside enjoying some sidewalk chalk.  Ms. Marissa was outside with them drawing a rainbow.  The Toddler 1 classroom was outside for a walk.  They loved watching the big trucks drive by and Mr. Glynn was having them imitate the sounds of the truck.

Earlier in the day inside, the two year olds in the Toddler 4 class experimented with shaving cream for the first time.  Ms. Renee wrote their names in the shaving cream to see who would recognize their own names.

Need infant care?

Quality infant care is hard to find because many centers only have one infant classroom typically with 2 teachers and 8 children.  At our newest Day Nursery location in Pike Township on Indy’s northwest side, we are getting ready to open up a second infant room in January.  If you would like to add your name to the waiting list, please call the center at 291-8048. Director Marla Segal or Office Manager Brandi Burns will be happy to help you. The Day Nursery Northwest Center is located at 5735 W. 73rd Street and cares for children 6 weeks to 6 years old.

Friday Feature: Day Nursery Guion Road Center

I thought I would take the next few Fridays and feature a different Day Nursery center each week.  I am going to start at our “Guion Road” center on Indy’s northwest side just east of the intersection of 56th and Guion Road.  Marla Segal is the Center Director and Shannon Taylor is the office manager. Day Nursery acquired this center in the summer of 2003.  In August of this year, this center is moving a bit farther northwest to a new location on 73rd Street near Zionsville Road.  Our future home in the Park 100 complex will be larger than our current location and will have 3 more classrooms.   All students currently enrolled will have a space in the new center and we have already started a waiting list for parents interested in joining us in August when we move.  The only way to guarantee a space in the new center is to enroll in our current location now.  Call Marla or Shannon for more information at 291-8048. While our new center is being renovated, the children are keeping busy with many fun summer activities.  Here are some pictures provided by preschool teachers Ms. Johnslynn and Ms. Robin.
