As luck would have it, I was visiting the Day Nursery Ruth A. Lilly Center when the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library bookmobile made its bi-weekly visit.
On the agenda today was getting each classroom signed up for the IMCPL’s 91st Summer Reading program, Read to Feed. Preschool teachers play an invaluable role in a child’s first steps to learning how to read. Reading aloud and talking to children enriches their imagination & vocabulary in critical ways so the library encourages teachers to enroll their class in the summer reading program as an easy way to build the love of reading. Day Nursery teacher Sally Coombs (pictured below leaving the bus with two students) says she looks forward to the bookmobile visits because they bring her books that expand on what the class is talking about that week. Thanks to the IMCPL bookmobile staff for another enjoyable visit.
