The Day Nursery Start Smart 4 Children at Ft. Harrison had two special visitors yesterday. I will let Center Director Debra Ballard tell you the story: Our toddler teacher Miss Michelle Earl volunteers at Edelweiss Equine Assisted Therapy Center located in Greenfield Indiana. She thought it would be a great idea for the therapy horses to visit the children at our center. These horses are specially trained to work with riders with disabilities so they are very patient with all kids. The five-year-olds really liked grooming the horses. The 4’s class enjoyed the visit. The three-year-olds enjoyed watching the horses eat the grass. The twos were very excited to feel and brush the horses and the Toddler’s enjoyed touching and feeling the horses. The infants couldn’t take their eyes off of them.
