Day Nursery Too Cute Tuesday

It is Building Week in the Preschool 2 classroom at our Ft. Harrison center. They learned about different types of buildings, materials used to build, tools and occupations of the people in different buildings. This was the class project. Thanks to our Director of Center Administration Patty Fisher for capturing this great picture.

Don’t miss the Hundred Languages of Indiana Children

Projects from all seven Day Nursery centers will be featured this week in a very short running show at the Indianapolis Artsgarden, downtown Indianapolis adjacent to the Circle Centre Mall.

Members of the Indianapolis Reggio Collaborative and the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children are hosting an art exhibit showcasing the work of young children from around the state of Indiana.  Preschools and child care providers from around the state have partnered with local artists to teach the children about new mediums and then showcase what they have learned at this exhibit.

Join us for the ribbon cutting Thursday, April 7 at 5:30 pm. The exhibit will be open Friday, April 8 10:00 am-4:00 pm and will close that afternoon.

Harrison.  This art project started with a recycled ice cream bar bucket filled with old marker tops and grew into this piece of art inspired by art they found online.  Day Nursery teacher Tracey Wickware encouraged her students to explore the work of New York artist Tara Donovan who creates work from common everyday materials.Day Nursery pre K studentsDay Nursery Indianapolis preschoolers working on art project

Santa sighted today near Ft. Harrison

Debra Ballard, Director of the Day Nursery Start Smart 4 Children at Ft. Harrison called me to say she was emailing me pictures of the live reindeer that visited her center this morning with Santa.  Boy was I fooled.  Look at the picture I got.  Too cute!
